9th Avenue – Stocking Fillers Volume 1

9th Avenue is a brand new imprint to hit the streets and it has been brought into the world by the trio of, Dan Howell (Mr Rich and The Caretaker), Steve Whittle (Vinyl Messi) and Dave Bushnell (Dave RMX). They’re going on a mission to track down the very best there is to offer from the world of electronic music and that means genre boundaries are only there to be broken.

The debut release from 9th Avenue is aptly titled ‘Stocking Fillers Volume 1’ and comes complete with 9 tracks that take you on a journey through an eclectic range of sounds. Label co-founders, Dave RMX and Vinyl Messi, both chip in with a rework each of a couple of very well known tunes from the 90’s and 00’s and if you wanna get the dance floors attention, those 2 tunes will do it! Ground shattering Breaks come courtesy of Splunk and Dr Moody. Their tracks may have different bpm’s, but they both pack the same heavyweight punch.

Applying some serious groove to the LP is Smartie Roc and The Monkey DJ with their Disco tinged offerings. Deep and a little dirty is how those 2 play out. Deathy delivers a slick slice of liquid Funk while the final 2 tracks are a couple of sublime downtempo cuts from Kenny Beeper and TIGERPIT.

As mentioned above, 9th Avenue are all about selecting quality tunes from all corners of the electronic music spectrum and that’s exactly what they’ve done with ‘Stocking Fillers Volume 1’. We’re very much looking forward to hearing what else this imprint has to offer!
