Andy Beck is another of our artists we are always pushing as he produces some blistering tracks as well as being just a generally great guy. Some may remember him as A.B.S releasing breaks/tech funk tracks and remixes for a number of artists for the AUX and VIP labels. He now concentrates on playing and producing the nice chunky techno that I adore and has recent releases on Phutek’s Layer 909 label and producing with the mighty Barbuto on Mavic Music.
With a regular techno show on Studio808 and the occasional foray into nuskoolbreaks djing he has been busy this year. So it came as a surprise when we asked him to give us a contribution to this advent calendar he said he didn’t have anything. We were disappointed and were about to look elsewhere when he suddenly pulled out this track “Last Resort” that he said he had mastered and ready to go.
What an rollicking good track it is too a vibrating bass pulsing deep enough to shake the bowels of hell itself…I defy anyone not to move to this track. It makes me think that if this is what he has stuffed down the back of his proverbial music sofa I’d like to get my hands down further and see what else he has lying around.
