The title track fuses numerous elements of different rave decades into an energy filled lightning bolt of complex breakbeats, thundering subs, flutes and haunting keys. This is the sound of intelligent, inventive 2019 Hardcore Jungle.
‘Hurt’ is dark soul breakbeat personified with more than a passing nod to early Metalheadz. Twisted rave riffs take the listener into a fearful yet pleasurable headspace while the drums hit super hard. The darkness builds and peaks into a moment of sublimity like a classic Goldie tune circa mid 90s.
‘Respect’ starts with a spiritual message before mashing the throttle into a gear simply known as ‘Jungle.’ It’s pure 94′ amens and soaring synths all the way on this one a la Aphrodite. The mother-load delivery comes quick and fast in the shape of a warm dose of ruffneck bassline business! Hold tight for the reload on this one!
‘Wither’ gets melodic and soul searching with sultry vocals and Nookie style piano. This is the ‘Tom & Jerry’ tune of the EP, a tune that takes its lead from the legendary production duo and runs with it into sub heavy, 808 filled landmine territory.
