Alexis Evans – I Made A Deal With Myself / Your Words (7″ Vinyl) (Record Kicks)

French singer/songwriter/producer Alexis Evans caused quite a stir in the Soul scene when he released his debut album ‘I’ve Come Along Way’ earlier this year on Record Kicks. Picking up rave reviews from heavyweights in the music industry such as Rolling Stones Magazine (France), Blues & Soul, Record Collector Magazine and Craig Charles to name just a few, it’s time for little ol’ LSM to tell you that this charismatic gentleman is a very talented one indeed!

The music we’ve got for you from Alexis comes on a highly sought after 45, which at the time of writing this, has only 24 copies left! The reason for it being in such high demand is of course down to the fact that the music found on it is some of the very best of its kind in its particular field.

On the A-side is ‘I Made A Deal With Myself’ which was Alexis’ first ever single to be released on Record Kicks. Lighting up in just a few seconds, this incredible soul stormer pays homage to the Northern Soul scene and family and because of its highly addictive energy, brass accompaniment and Alexis’ superbly soulful vocal, it would have gone down a storm on dancefloors back in the scene’s heyday, that there is no doubt!

On the flipside, we have ‘Your Words’ which just happens to be Alexis’ brand new single! This stunning deep Soul number draws on Rocksteady influences and if you need to take a breather from all of the enthusiastic dancing that has just gone before, this is the perfect track to do just that to. Think of it as aural honey that will always sweeten your soul.

We highly recommend checking out his debut album over on his Bandcamp page and get following on the other links to, because you’re gonna be hearing a lot more from this talented chap in the future!
