So here’s one that’s had various shapes being thrown on the commute. The production that has been coming from Brazil lately has absolutely got my attention.
Here we have a steady paced, house masterpiece, infused with enough flavours of acid, techno and minimal to make anyone groove. Years ago, I would have confidently and defiantly described music I didn’t like as squarely techno, progressive house and minimal, with arrangements that are a single chord.
Well, ladies and gentlemen, here is a an example of the type of track where I am, to put it mildly, mistaken.
Creativity and personality are the main characteristics of this Brazilian duo, formed by Marcelo Abreu and Diogo Vaille. After a long history in the Brazilian electronic music scene, these two guys got together to form the Bruce Leyroys project and we seriously, seriously hope they stick at it.
A friend said it was the hi-hat that makes it, but for me, it’s the sub-bass, progressive pace, gentle yet effective dynamics in the drops, and above all else, a first class choice of sampling. DJ tip – it’s a similar key and BPM to this.
Hats off to you sirs. Thanks for the free download.
