Altered Tapes – They Said (An Ode to Chicago)

Altered Tapes pays tribute with an ode to his hometown and fellow Chicago(ans) Common, Kanye and Ahmad Jamal with this crazy cool Breakbeat flip of ‘They Say’ from Common’s 2005 album ‘Be’. The drums on this one are bang on the money and provide the perfect ear-catching¬†accompaniment for the retro keys, vocals and sublime flavour to sit over. It’s one for the collection of any discerning music lover that’s for sure.

Buy ‘They Said’ here on Bandcamp.

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
