It was this time last week that I was cruising down the River Thames aboard Finger Lickin‘s 20th-anniversary boat party with a few of the Life Support Machine crew and a whole bunch fellow Breakbeat lovers having the time of our lives! It was always going to be that way when you had Plump DJs, Krafty Kuts, Lee Coombs, Slyde, A.Skillz, Soul Of Man, Drumattic Twins and Stereo 8 on the lineup! As a massive Breakbeat and Finger Lickin’ fan myself, I can honestly say that every track played on the night was my favourite. If by any chance Jem and Justin decide to celebrate Finger Lickin’s 21st birthday on a boat, grabbing a ticket for it is an absolute must!
One person who was unable to make it on the night was B-Roll, who left the UK to live in Singapore and even as the crow flies, that’s a few too many miles away to pop back over for a party, even of the magnitude of the one on the boat. So, to show his love for Finger Lickin’ and the outstanding music it has released over the last 20 years, he decided to celebrate with a brilliant tribute mix of his own. Packed with all the classics, I have to admit that the memories of last weekend are flooding back as I listen to it. If you weren’t able to make it yourself, B-Roll’s mix is pretty much how it sounded!
