Big Fat Mama Beats – Funk Bananas Vol.2 (V/A)

Following on from the release of Breakbeat Paradise Recordings hugely successful ‘Funk Bananas’ compilation album three years ago, Big Fat Mama Beats come wading in with volume two and what a follow up it is!

On board volume two are fifteen tracks of the most high grade Funk and Breakbeat on the planet. Featured in this post are just seven of those tracks from the album which give the perfect representation of the kind of heavy duty beats you’re to expect from the whole release.

The playlist of music posted kicks of with an album mini-mix from Mr Rich which is followed by a track by himself and his partner in crime The Caretaker. Their gritty and groovy Breaks tune ‘This Shit Is Bananas’ is the album opener and has a title that could not be anymore apt for a selection of tracks that are gonna send you bananas! Adrenalinez drop a booty shakin’ Breaks jam with their track ‘Fire Groove’, while The Funk Philosopher lays the smack down with his fierce midtempo monster ‘Do It Do It’.

More midtempo mayhem follows with DiscoBeta’s mighty slab of Glitch Funk ‘Jive Hill’ with Pecoe following on with his trademark chunky Funky Breaks sound on ‘Prepare To Die’. Label co-owner Wiccatron finishes off this particular selection of tracks with a cool slice of funky Big Beat and leaves you in no doubt that this compilation is one you need not only to investigate further, but one to own too!

The rest of the music on this incredible album comes from Bezwun, One Dead Jedi, Pulpfusion, Old Flame, ElectroGorilla, Sonale and Rory Hoy.
