Many of you will be aware of the high calibre of music Breakbeat Paradise Recordings delivers and many of you will know that they’re huge lovers of all things Funky Breaks. What some of you might not know though, is that the BBP crew also have quite a fondness for Disco and because of that they’ve gone about assembling a 10 track album ‘Disco Paradise‘ to properly kick-start everyone’s summer. Like always, the crew have done things right by getting involved some of the most talented producers of the scene and all of them have turned to their ‘A’ game, as you’re gonna find out once you get stuck in.

This particular playlist sees Basschimp open up proceedings and if his high energy offering ‘Set Me Free‘ doesn’t get you excited for the rest of the album, you might need to check your pulse! Charlie Beale is up next and his fusion of Disco and midtempo Breaks for his cosmically charged track ‘Planet Funk‘ is a mind-blower for sure. Don Dayglow is somewhat of a newcomer to the Disco scene, but you wouldn’t think it after you’ve heard his Acid tinged groover ‘Flywalker‘. Classy stuff! DJ Kid Stretch’s tune ‘Jupiter‘ is only a 35 second preview here but believe me, once the horns kick in, you’ll be hooked and hungry to hear more, which of course you can on the album. Disco extraordinaire, Pied Piper, ushers in all of his knowledge and applies the hottest groove to his brilliant Disco House remix of one of his own tunes ‘Lick Me All Around‘.

The top names on this album keep on coming and as we pass the halfway mark, Morlack steps up with his Disco Banger ‘Party Till You Broke‘ that’s a sure-fire floor filler, that there can be no doubt! Morongroover is a producer who has just been introduced to us by BBP and because of the slice of awesomeness that himself and Mr Bristow have put together, he’s someone who I shall be checking out further. Their tune is called ‘Jump To It‘ and jump to it you will! The always reliable, Leygo, features next and you can always expect and exemplary cut when this dudes getting down to business. ‘Get Up‘ offers plenty for the Disco lover as well as rib-tickling bassline that needs to be felt! ‘Rollerskating Jam‘ is the penultimate track here and this one comes from someone who just had to feature on this album, Dr Packer. We’ve been loving his work for ages and he’s delivered another stone cold classic that, when served with sunshine, feels so damn right. Check it and you’ll see. Bringing the album to a close in fine style is Shaka Loves You. These guys reputation has flourished in the world of Disco and their original track ‘Turn The Music Up‘ is testament to the work they’ve been putting in. Nu-skool vibes to prove that this genre lives strong in the hearts of many.

I think we can all agree that with a lineup of artists like that, this album is gonna be a little bit special and it really is. Buying ‘Disco Paradise’ will become one of the easiest decisions you’ll ever have to make.
