Chris Grubizna – Rare Edits Vol. 2 (Masterworks Music)

After making his Masterworks Music comeback a couple of months back with his superb Disco-led Rare Edits Vol. 1, Chris Grubizna is back once again like the renegade master with the now chart-topping follow-up Rare Edits Vol. 2.

Four head-turning rare-groove re-edits were found on volume 1 and the same theme continues on volume 2 with the ranks swollen to six this time around, which only gives us even more of Chris’ music to marvel at. The Soul-packed stick of Disco dynamite All You Need starts things off with a bang and the explosive and brass-toting Bitter Pleasure follows on with bags of groove onboard. The low-slung and Funk-heavy Gettin’ Down swaggers onto the scene and is joined by the heady and blissed-out pool-side chiller Love Me Tonight as the only downtempo tracks on the EP. With the tempo picked back up for the movers and shakers out there, the retro Funk flavoured Miami Vice arrives with another blast of brass and a strengthened 4/4 beat and to finish this wondrous journey we have the sun-lit Disco gem Summer Joy, which is one of those ‘throw your hands in the air like you just don’t care’ kind of tracks that you just can’t help but fall in love with.

With volumes 1 and 2 impressing so much, all we can do is boogie on down to the music we have while keeping our fingers crossed that a volume 3 will head our way in the future.

About the Author

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
