Crash Party – Residential Area EP (Scour Records)

When you’ve got one of the go-to labels for phat and funky midtempo led Breaks, Scour Records, bringing you a fresh off the production line EP from a duo who love to smash it with their music of the phat, funky and bass-heavy variety, Crash Party, you’re too be in no doubts that all hell is about to break loose!

‘Residential Area’ is the name of Crash Party’s new Glitch Hop based EP and yes, just in case you’re wondering, it should preferably be played loud! All four tracks on the EP hit damn hard but come with an assortment of tweaks and bpm’s to cover any situation where you yourself needs to smash it. The title track of the EP kicks things off and lays down the perfect marker as to just how heavy things are gonna get, but with its own upbeat groove. ‘Funk Groove’ is as infectious as the title may suggest and we dare you to try to sit still to this one! ‘Throw Your Hands’ just pips it as my favourite track of the EP which is probably because it’s the filthiest sounding one, for me anyway. If you’re after some skankin’ bassline madness in the let’s say mid 120′ bpm wise ‘Lock It Off’ is precisely the track you need and it also ends things with a proper bang! Lock and load Glitch Hoppers, the party awaits!
