Disco Xmas EP – James Rod ft Fiorucci ft Aleito

Because of all the hullabaloo that goes down around Christmas time, some of the music that gets released around that time can sometimes slip through the net of any music lover. Luckily for us, we’ve managed to snag this superb Disco rework EP by James Rod and his good friends Fiorucci and Aleito before it managed to slip through ours. Even though the EP is titled ‘Disco Xmas’, the reworks have no direct link to Christmas with their sound, so that means they’ll sound just as good being spun at mid-winter parties as they will entertaining festival tribes throughout the summer months.

All-in-all there are 4 very well executed reworks on the EP that are not only full of class but also available to download for free! The first of them is a collab between James, Fioruchi and Aleito and it sees them give a groove-laden Future Boogie makeover to Stevie Wonder‘s classic ‘Superstition’ that, as it turns out, is one of the best takes on that classic I’ve heard to date! Next, James works his magic on ‘I’m Coming Out’ by Diana Ross and adds extra layers of sass and class to present a certified dancefloor filler everyone can get down too.

James goes solo again on the third rework of ‘Inside Out’ by Odyssey and moulds it into a deep and luxurious Disco churner that becomes more mesmeric the more it unfolds. For the final rework, it’s another collab, with James this time teaming up with Fiorucci on a cosmic and heady Disco take on the Bee Gees‘Stayin’ Alive’ that at first, you will marvel at and second, you will move too!

All of the reworks can be downloaded from James’ label Golden Soul Records, which is a label that holds the key to a lot happiness, especially if Disco is your thing.
