DJ Format & Abdominal – Still Hungry: The Remixes

DJ Format & Abdominal are currently just over the halfway mark of their current UK tour and such was the buzz they both had leading up to it, they released ‘Still Hungry – The Remixes’ a free 8 track album comprising of remixes of tracks from their incredible album ‘Still Hungry’ that was dropped in April of this year and they haven’t messed about when drafting a crack team of highly talented remixers.

Opening up this impressive selection of remixes is Abdominal and his three piece band, The Obliques, who put a funkier twist on the heavy hitting original ‘Dirt’. DJ Supreme strips things back on ‘We’re Back’ with his slightly sinister, yet totally fresh remix. Firing out more Funk is the mighty Featurecast and his catchy take on ‘Diamond Hammer’. Dropping in with heavy Brazilian vibes is Hiphoppapotamus and his infectious remix ‘No Time’.

Henkel tackles the title track of the album next as he lowers the tempo and provides one of those tracks you’ll just love to kick back to. When Dutty Moonshine are backed up by their Big Band, only big things happen and that’s just what went down on their remix of ‘Forged From The Hardship’. Savage Henry seamlessly blends a Future Funk sound with a classic boom bap sound on ‘Behind The Scenes’ and finishing this high quality album is Danny.wav with his crisp and ridiculously smooth spin on ‘We Say’. It’s all good music, that you can be sure of.
