DJ HH- Begging For More [Lazarus Recordings]

4 tracks of ruff, rugged Hardcore Rave from DJ HH that will have you begging for more!!!

We go back to 1994 with DJ HH’s ‘Hardcore Bad Boy’ where crunchy tearout amen breaks plough through the scenery hot on the heels of a funky bassline, call and response vocals, hyper hyper pianos and a trancey mid section!

DJ Deluxe gives ‘Hardcore Bad Boy’ a bouncing rerub with crashing amens DnB style and extra oldskool stabs reverse bass style!!

The title track opens in classic mid 90s fashion with cut up time-stretched breaks and the gradual introduction of Makina influenced kicks. When the piano drops, any oldskool head will instantly think of Seduction, Dougal, Sy et al. This is the most oldskool adjacent track of the EP by far, in fact it really sounds like a 94/95 tune!!! We get a little surprise in the mid section as things go a bit Blade Runner while retaining that cut up amen break pattern. The piano gets increasingly rushy and intense, just the way we like it!!

‘The Love That We Shared’ opens with power chords aimed straight at the big room with interludes of piano and some unique vocal FX along the way. These musical quirks add to a more unique take on the Hardcore sound as does the super cool bass led breakdown with scratch effects. It’s hardcore Jim but not as you know it, the signatures are present but the sounds are original and inspiring.
