DJ Hiphoppapotamus – Samba Junglist EP

If there’s one thing that’s a nailed on guarantee, it’s that Bristol based, DJ Hiphoppapotamus, will always bring the sunshine times through the power of his music, even on the darkest of days. He’s well known for infusing Latin, Caribbean and Afro styles into his Breaks, House, Drum n Bass and Hiphop work, which always creates a unique party vibe.

Taking Latin from his list of ingredients, DJ Hiphoppapotamus has then added that to Drum n Bass to create his rather moreish 4 track ‘Samba Junglist‘ EP. It’s all about Brazilian vibes with this EP and opens up with the smoothest Liquid D n B remix from himself of his own tune ‘Disco Shame‘ that was released on Beatnik City‘s ‘Northern Beats Vol 2‘ album. After that slice of gorgeousness, the energy levels are peaking with ‘Golden Boys‘ which is a collaborative track between himself and his good pals, Waggles and Bear Twists. Next up is the title track of the EP ‘Samba Junglist‘ which pretty much does as it says on the tin. Huge Latin influences combined with crisp Jungle beats and real carnival feel. Finishing off this superb EP is ‘Summertime‘. This track features the stunning vocal of Helena May, who covers Ella Fitzgerald‘s ‘Summertime And The Living is Easy‘ brilliantly, and with a deeper Latin Jazz vibe provided by DJ Hiphoppapotamus, you couldn’t ask for a tastier cherry to place on top of an already delicious cake. All of these tracks have been made with summer in mind, so make sure you make the most of em!
