Featurecast – Shout It Out Remixes

It’s just under a year ago now since Featurecast hit us with his mighty album ‘Shout It Out‘, which delivered 10 massive tracks of funk-filled goodness. If the mention of that album gets you excited, it’s time to get once more as Featurecast has commissioned a 6 track EP featuring remixes of tracks on the album from a handful of his favourite producers who have gone on to create monsters of their own.

Opening up proceedings is Canadian producer, Defunk, who ramps up the heaviness on ‘Addicted‘ feat. D’Fro, with a Glitch Hop and Blues influenced remix that’ll have the stompers ‘avin it large on the dance floor. Next up is, Ahee, and he’s gone for a truly old school approach on his remix of ‘Move‘ by injecting a healthy dose of Electro, along with modern synths, builds, drops and even a samba whistle.

Get On Up‘ featuring killer vocals from D’Fro and Greg Blackman, was one of the most liked tracks on ‘Shout It Out‘ and Future Funk producer, Flavours, has put a remix together that blends Disco, Glitch Hop, Jazz and Hip Hop and the outcome will have the love flowing freely once again, guaranteed. Stepping up to the plate next is the mighty WBBL and his remix of ‘What You Want‘, You may well think that there’s a wonky Ghetto Funk slammer coming your way, but not this time, well not entirely. The wonkyness is still in full effect but this time it’s all about booming Bassline House. Crank it and watch the walls wobble!

For the 5th remix on the EP, Phibes morph into their Inapt guise for their take on ‘999‘ and with those guys, in that guise, it’s always gonna be about bass, bass and more bass. The emergency services should be on standby when you drop this, because the ferocity of it blasting through a sound-system will leave the weak in a crumpled mess! Rounding off a hugely entertaining selection of music is Latvian funkster, Dub:ra, with a Glitch Hop remix of ‘Take It Down‘. This synthtastic midtempo monster is the cherry that sits perfectly on top of a mouth wateringly good cake. Go consume it all!

About the Author

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
