A couple of weeks ago we brought you the first volume in an extremely funky four-part mix series from Fort Knox Five titled DC’s Finest and after promising to release these mixes in a short space of time, volume 2 has landed!
If you missed us feature volume 1, the DC’s Finest mixes were found after a recent spring clean of their vaults. None of the mixes had ever seen the light of day, so the decision was made recently to not only release each mix, but also release the tracklist as an album that can be downloaded for free or bought on a pay what you like basis. A small portion of the music you can own has been released before, but a majority of it is being made available to own and hear for the very first time, so if you’re a fan of Fort Knox Five, you’ll want to be all over these albums!
With just two of the ten tracks released before – Rootz in FK-os and Green Tambourine – you can now lay your hands on exclusive remixes and mashups of music by artists such as Kurtis Blow, Gwen Stefani, The Temptations, Howard Tate and Willie Hutch amongst others. The mix comes when you get the album, so that means when you need music for the party or mix, you’re well and truly covered!
