Fort Knox Five – DC’s Finest Volume 3

Fort Knox Five’s revival of some classic golden oldie Funk jams continues with part three of their four-part series that has seen them unearth a treasure trove of DC’s Finest remixes and make them publically available for the very first time. There could be a tinge of sadness creep in because this is the penultimate volume, but because of the thoughtfulness and generosity that has been shown by them by releasing all of the music and releasing it all for free, gratefulness and happiness is all that should be felt really.

Volume three gives us another ten tracks and a DJ mix to add to the exclusive collection of stone-cold cool tracks already accumulated from the last 2 volumes. On this one, the first track Mama’s Boots was actually released back in the day as a white label on 12″ vinyl. That fine midtempo Breaks remix of Somebody Groovy by The Mamas & Papas is joined by fellow party jams such as Beenie Bot, Skeewiff Signs and Sometimes amongst others. If there’s one guarantee in life, it’s that there ain’t no party like a Fort Knox party!

As mentioned, all of the albums are available for free, but if you can, please do support FK5 and all of your favourite artists so that they can keep the music production lines moving.

About the Author

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
