Fort Knox Five & K+Lab – Jinglin’ Janglin’ ft. Baby Bam

Thanks to the power of the funky music made by an extremely talented group of funkateers from Washington DC and British Colombia, Canada, a bond has been formed over the last decade or so that’ll never be broken. Top Washington DC funksters Fort Knox Five have been one of the main driving forces behind this strong bond and it’s their tracks that have come in for some serious remix action from artists based in that part of the world. Having been seriously impressed with the quality of these remixes and the music in general of the remixers in question, Fort Knox Five have long dreamed of hooking up with some of them to make some brand new music and set about making that happen in a new series of tracks that will come under the heading of ‘DC to BC’.

The first of these collaborations sees FK5 team up with the mighty K+Lab and although he comes from New Zealand, Vancouver, BC is now home from home for this funky Glitch Hop making beatsmith. Any lover of the midtempo scene will already know that something big is gonna go down with said parties involved and for those of you who are hoping that it’s great news, as ‘Jinglin’ Janglin’ feat. Baby Bam (from the Jungle Brothers no less!) is a belter! The funky intro will not prepare you for the bass you’re about to receive from this midtempo monster that comes with a fresh blast of brass, fat as you like beats and as Baby Bam says “just listen to the track, then rewind it back”!
