  • Hip Hop is what Will Smith did back in the day before he was in movies and people had dance-offs. They bring the record back to scratch the beats. Scratch the beats. Trip Hop is when DJs started doing edits of classic hip-hop tunes. They fused synths and dance music production values to create a house-hop hybrid. This later became Big Beat, then Breaks, then… well everything that isn’t four-to-the-floor. History, innit. Gotta know your roots.
