Freshly Dipped Volume 3 – V/A (Cuttin’ It Fine)
Cuttin’ It Fine Records is back on the scene with the third volume of its free Freshly Dipped EP series and just like the previous two volumes, there are another four free multi-genre gems from a multi-talented cast of top producers.
Flinging the doors open on Freshly Dipped Vol. 3 and welcoming us in with open arms is Bristol’s Dephicit, who serves up a brass-toting Drum and Bass remix of Di Melo‘s 1975 Funk classic Kilario that’ll definitely get the heart rate rising! Next up is no stranger to the halls of LSM, The Beat-Pimp. His hugely popular Pimpology mix series (exclusive to LSM) has served up hours and hours of essential listening but now he’s focusing more on the production side of things and as you’re gonna hear, things are going very well indeed. His offering Drop Kick is a huge Glitch Hop chugger that will take you off your feet if you’re not fully prepared for what you are about to receive!
Another regular visitor to the ward who can be found on this cracking EP Australia’s Frankee More. He takes a dash of Kanye, a squeeze of Lupe and after a quick stir with Disco, he serves up an intoxicating glass full of groove and good times with Testify. Bring things to a rousing conclusion is Plymouth’s TowlieDJ. I’m not quite sure how he has not been featured by one us on the ward before because he is a fine purveyor of all things Breaks and Bass and we do love lashings off both in equal measure. Better late than never so they say and if we’re honest, we couldn’t have picked a better time because his bass-laden Keep It Funky is an absolute belter that demands you play it loud!
Because I’m not far off my mid-forties, I have to admit to being unaware that ‘freshly dipped’ is a term given to someone who his dressed in finest attire and should you want to be someone who has been ‘freshly dipped’, head over to the Cuttin’ It Fine Bandcamp page where you’ll find a dope t-shirt emblazoned with the logo found on the cover of the EP.
