Fuselage – Seize The Time + Remixes (Bona Fido)

As some of you may have seen, Finger Lickin’ Records co-founder Jem Panufnik has started up his own label Bona Fido. So far, all of the music on his imprint has come from the international men of mystery Midnight Heist, whose whereabouts are still unknown, although we do know they’re busy harvesting Funk by the bucket load.

Their new Funk edits have helped set the firmest of foundations for Bona Fido to be built on, which is going prove to be a very wise decision to have been made. The reason for this is because the label will be releasing a huge amount of heavyweight Breaks classics from the good ol’ days, that have not been available to own on digital format before, so it goes without saying that Breakbeat fans are in for a proper treat!

The first of these gems to be released is Fuselage’s 1998 Big Beat behemoth ‘Seize The Time’ that was found on the ‘Put Your Foot Down’ EP, which was originally released on Kahuna Cuts and was recorded at DrumAttic studios, produced & engineered by the Drumattic Twins. To give you an idea of just how good this track is, it leapfrogged the likes of DJ Shadow, Air, David Holmes and Coldcut to claim the number one slot in DJ Mag‘s eclectic Big Beat chart. If you like your beats chunky with a bit of filth and funk thrown in, you’ll be wanting to own this one!

Accompanying the release of ‘Seize The Time’ are three incredibly classy remixes. The first of these is the Sol Brothers body poppin’ Electro heavy Breaks remix, which also came out at the same time and on the same EP as the original. The next two remixes, well there brand spanking new ones!

The first of those comes from Jem himself and he’s created the most vibrant and positively charged dance floor bomb with his Disco Funk remix. Rounding things off very nicely with a chunky sound that’ll take many of us Breaks fans back in time is Dirty Barry, aka Robin12Tree of Finger Lickin’ Records mainstay Slyde.

After the release of all this music, our minds here at LSM are bouncing around our skulls as we think about what other classics are on the way. For those who were thinking Breakbeat was on the way out, it might just be time to think again.

Release date 14th June 2018.
