Future Disco – Dance Club (V/A)

Future Disco returns with the 14th instalment of its award-winning compilation series ‘Dance Club’ and this time, serves up 18 essential Disco tracks that have been carefully handpicked with a place in mind that so many of us have missed so much since the whole pandemic kicked off and are hoping to return to very soon, the dancefloor! The stunning selection of club and festival-ready tracks have been compiled by label boss Sean Brosnan who, in his own words, describes what the essence of the album is all about:

“The dance club is a concept that focuses on the most important aspect of dance music – the dancing itself. This album is a celebration album, which sounds strange in such difficult times, but it’s a celebration of dancing and how we have so badly missed this expression. How we will dance again in the future, and it’s going to be better and bigger than ever”.

With so much amazing music on offer, the highlights reel is an action-packed and show-stopping occasion from start to finish and wherever you turn, good times are coming to your door. Amongst the highlights of the Disco masterpiece is a remix from Yuksek of ‘Can’t Get Enough’ by Dimitri From Paris & Aeroplane feat. Leela and acts as that first shard of sunlight that pierces the storm clouds and erodes them to nothing so that the rest of the music can be experienced with the clearest of minds and full of anticipation of what’s to come. There’s an edit from Future Disco of ‘Seventies’ by Theo Kottis that’s packing enough peak-time energy to run a small country let alone a dancefloor! COEO and Catz n Dogz & Greg Janson pay homage to ’90s rave culture with their respective ‘I Can Never Be Yours’ that laced with old skool piano and percussion and Modern Romance that’s all about old skool bass and euphoric vocal.

Huge soulful vocals and even more uplifting piano can be found driving floor-fillers like Dr Packer’s remix of ‘Final’ by Hustler Convention, Gerd Janson & Jaques Renault’s ‘Never Saw Never’ and another Future Disco edit, this time of ‘Joy’ by The Showfa. With so much party packed into so many of the tracks on the compilation, the time to decompress will eventually arrive and tracks like ‘L’atellier’ by ANTENNA, ‘L.E.V.E.L’ by Emil Rottmayer and Gilligan Ross’ remix of ‘Wendy’s Yard’ by Ekkah will help you effortlessly glide back down to earth after all the energy has been burnt.

If we do get to a dancefloor when we’re supposed to get to a dancefloor, bonus. If not though, the music found on ‘Dance Party’ will entertain and keep the mind positively charged until that time does arrive and when it does, there’s only one thing to do, dance!
