Gothika Shade – The Birth of the Huma Bird EP

Gothika Shade returns to Kniteforce with ‘The Birth of the Huma Bird EP’, 4 Hi NRG Breakbeat Hardcore tracks that embody the true spirit of the Kniteforce sound

The raving journey begins with ‘Enter The Dancehall’ which does just that and does it with gusto! A hyperspeed Jungle Tekno roller in 92/93 style. a blend of rushing pianos, ragga rave keys, roling amens and Manix circa 92 synths that calls back to the very best of the early to mid 90s underground rave sound.

‘Coming On Strong (Breakbeat Intro Version)’ opens in hand rasing fashion with crowd samples and happy pianos that switch to an Edge1 ‘Compnded’style riff, the gateway to an oncoming amen assault! From here, things take a darker turn with Techno stabs before returning to the wide eyed pianos plus additional ‘Coming On strong’ vocals as heard on the huge Signum trance track of the same name. You certainly can’t go wrong with this tune!

‘The Realm Of Gothika’ is pure Kniteforce, with beats and keys familiar to long time fans of the label. The combo of euphoric keys and ruff junglistic amens and ragga samples brings to mind Krome & Time’s one time alias, Higher Level. Uplifting oldskool style jungle with hardcore riffs in a soundclash with tear out amens!

‘Rainbow (Full On Prism Mix)’ draws influences from goosebump Kniteforce anthems like ‘High On Life.’ Furious drums lead into a spine tingling section of rave piano and gorgeous vocals with constant key changes. A voice instructs ‘let’s go craxy’ as a wash of hardcore synth melts our brains at the mid section then it’s time for the second rush as swirls of ambient melody float in.

Whoever that MC was who bellowed ‘hardcore will never die’ over that Q Bass track (also called ‘hardcore will never die’) back in 92 was right. Artists like Gothika Shade do more than just ‘keep hardcore alive’, they keep it fresh and add their own unique and memorable stamp on the sound with must have EPS like ‘The Birth of the Huma Bird’
