It’s all about those ‘funky grooves’ once again as Hansi makes a return to the ward with another 4 re-edits on volume 13 of his stunning EP series on Viking Grooves.
Welcoming us to the latest instalment of Funky Grooves is a gutsy, low-slung Funk spin on It’s Alright Now by Eddie Harris that will leave you flying high once you’ve had your fix of it. The tempo rises just a touch on the next track with a boogie-driven and sun-kissed Disco makeover of Rock You Baby by Geroge McCrae. With the good time vibes in full flow, it’s time to crank things up a notch with the next two tracks. The first of these is a punchy, dance-floor driven Funk revamp of Party Is A Groovy Thing by Peoples Choice which is swiftly followed by distinct Latin-feel given to his take on Herbie Hancock’s horn-heavy classic Watermelon Man.
