Spandangle Selections presents a jungle gem by Hired Gun aka Luna C with a remix from Danny Styles for the vinylists!
‘Dem Gun Mad ‘ is pure 1994/95 Jungle with the gunshots and Gangsta samples, timestretched vox, cut up amen breaks and bombastic rumbling bass all in accordance with the blueprint jungle sound and a great example of it!!!! Danny Styles mixes up the amens with ruffneck breakbeats and infectious sub bass stab patterns similar to the classic ‘Champion Sound.’
‘What Goes On’ opens in a fashion reminiscent of ‘Lord Of The Null Lines’ and melodic strings a la mid 90s Foul Play. Quite simply, its a classic slice of Jungle/early DnB also a bit like Luna C’s other well known classic ‘Piano Progression.’ Hornchurch Hardcore gives ‘What Goes On’ a nice remix/Re-Edit that brings out all the atmosphere of the original and amplifies it with lush drops and great teases into the heavy amen assault. Essential vinyl!
