Jalapeno Records – Jalapeno Funk Vol. 10
Jalapeno Records flagship compilation series has reached its 10th edition and just like the previous 9 volumes that have gone before, it’s bringing Funk on a whole new level! Many of the funksters and funkstresses from the label’s epic roster are once again present on the 18 track celebration of Funk with tracks from their back catalogues and there’s also a whopping 6 brand new exclusives from some of them too!
On the exclusive front, we find new music from Smoove, who delivers a crisp and funky remix of The Allergies ‘Run It Back’ feat. Andy Cooper and one of the happiest sounding tracks you’re ever likely to hear ‘Glory Days’ by the incredibly talented Izo Fitzroy, who is a lady I could listen to singing all day long! New signing to Jalapeno Records, Flevans, also has a brand new jam on the album with his super soulful and highly sophisticated ‘Two Steps’ feat. Elliot Cole.
Continuing with the exclusives, Soopasoul steps up with his bongo and brass-laced Bboy joint ‘Soul Battle’ and completing the bunch of brand spankers we have Jalapeno stalwart Basement Freaks, who provides us with a double whammy of new music. His first offering is a slick and soulful remix of his own track ‘White Hot’ feat. Kylie Auldist and his second is ‘Bring It Back’ feat. MC Kamy and vocalist Daiva, who, between them all, serve up a track that’s just waiting to be played on a warm and summery road trip in a few months time.
Other artists to feature on ‘Jalapeno Funk Vol. 10’ include Dr Rubberfunk, The Allergies, Titeknots, Uebertribe (Légère Recordings), Gizelle Smith and Smoove & Turrell and along with the other artists mentioned, we have clear proof that the future of Funk is in great hands!
