Ukrainian DJ/producer Franka is another new find for us here at LSM and he’s another Funk edit technician of the highest order and we do love a bit of that here on the ward. We do of course like to bring you original music when we can, but it’s people like Franka that dig out those rare and relatively unheard of gems and hook us all up with artists we never knew existed, which then of course opens doors to so much more amazing music.
With quite a few tracks on his Soundcloud page to be found, we’ve picked out this delicious edit of the Ju-Par Universal Orchestra’s ‘Time’. The original is a mellow 70’s Soul/Jazz number, but Franka has picked up the tempo and applied crisp and classic sounding broken beats while keeping the essence of the original firmly in place. One listen and you’re sure to go back for more and it’s a perfect taster to what else lies in wait in his collection.
