Katakana Edits Vol.102: Fray Bentos

If you like your Funk, Soul and Disco edits to have a certain meatiness to them, Fray Bentos is most definitely the chap to satisfy your needs. The Brighton based producer has a back catalogue full of succulent treats to tuck into, many of which can be found on Katakana Edits’ self-titled EP series where he is regarded as a reliable supplier of the kind of music you only want more of, just like the two new edits of his on volume 102. Opening with an extended and Disco groovin’ edit of I Don’t Lose Your Love by The Emotions, Fray follows with a Soul-drenched broken beat edit of Marvin Gaye’s all-star classic I Heard It Through The Grapevine. Both originals may well have done the rounds on the edit scene previously, but we’re diggin’ what Fray has done with both of these tracks and we reckon quite a few of you will too.

About the Author

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
