Lee Coombs – Hard to Find and Unreleased Jams 3 (Thrust Recordings)

Lee Coombs is becoming as popular as the ambassador who dishes out the Ferrero Rocher’s because he himself is dishing up another 15 classic tracks for those with the most exquisite taste on ‘Hard to Find and Unreleased Jams 3’.

If you’ve missed the previous two volumes that we’ve featured here on LSM, the deal is that Lee has been rounding up classic tracks and remixes of his music that’s either never been released or was only available to buy on vinyl back in the day. After the first album was released, we hoped there would be a volume 2 and now volume 3 has arrived, who knows how many more tunes Lee might have stashed away for further possible ‘Hard to Find and Unreleased Jams’ releases. Obviously, we hope loads, but all we can do is wait and keep our fingers crossed.

Taking our thoughts from the future back to the present, volume 3 is packing another seriously impressive selection of sounds from the worlds of Breakbeat, Tech Funk and Electro. In terms of music from Lee, it’s a mainly remixes that you’ll find from him this time around with notable takes on music by New Order, Lamb, Ferry Corsten, Contact, 30HZ and his remix of his own tune ‘Out Of My Mind’. There is a couple of tracks with Lee collaborating with Meat Katie also. The first of those it the brilliant ‘2 Men On A Trip’ and the second is the twisted classic ‘UP’. Remixers of Lee’s music include The Omega Men, Les Architects, Wes Smith and Meat Katie.

Getting hooked on the music on this album is a given, so clear you diaries and make time for some of the best music you’re ever likely to listne to!
