LSM’s 10 Mixes For The Weekend

It’s been a while but we’re back again with another selection of 10 mixes to aid you throughout your weekend plans, whatever they may be. And what a collection of mixes we have for you this time. The music on offer is simply out of this world! As always we’re going across the board of genres from Funk to Nu Disco, House, Techno, Breaks and Drum n Bass and even some beautiful Downtempo Chillout sounds. Whether you like all ten or just one of these mixes, your weekend will be made that bit sweeter whatever your choice. Providing this bountiful supply of spine tingling, uplifting and in parts, pretty filthy music is Pyperb, Black Girl / White Girl, Leftwing & Kody, Ben Coda, Skeewiff, Fort Knox Five & Qdup, Miss Mants, Stanton Warriors, Dj Randall and SkiiTour. As always, there’s no ranking of favourites here. Each mix is is on par with the next one so try one, try them all, the weekend is here!

We start things as we mean to go with a Nu-Disco mix that reaches in, cuddles your heart and releases that warm glow throughout your whole body as, Pyperb,  treats us to his ‘ Deep Disco Space Mix Vol.5 ‘. This dude definitely has a good ear when it comes to selecting the newest and best Nu-Disco for our ears and he’s gone and done it again. Deep and very delicious Disco music!

These two super cool ladies have been delighting crowds around the world, not only with their highly intoxicating Deep/ Tech House sets but also with their own crisp production work. If you adore House music, Black Girl / White Girl, have just the mix for you! So, so very good!

This mix from, Skeewiff, that was recorded for the amazing Saturday afternoon treat that is the ‘ Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show ‘, is a few months old now but because of the quality of the Funk, Soul and Jazz on offer, it cannot be ignored! It sees, Skeewiff, delve into the archives of ‘ Library Music ‘. The stuff that gets made over the years by session musicians and is kept away for use for in commercial enterprises on TV and radio. The tracklist of this mix is outstanding, just have a listen! You can catch Craig Charles show every Saturday from 6:00pm (GMT) on BBC 6 Music.

For the 10th year in a row, Fort Knox Five, took to the stages of the gorgeous, Shambhala Festival. This year however it was sadly for the first time without their dear friend and musical partner, Jon Horvath. It goes without saying that this set was dedicated to their homie and joining them on stage this year for an epic four-deck set was their good buddy, Qdup. The mix incorporates live mashed up acapellas, fx, original tunes, exclusive mixes and some of their favorite dance floor destroyers. Rounding off all the mayhem that’s been created by the previous mixes is, SkiiTour, with their mix ‘ Chairlift Chillin Vol. 7 ‘. The title may slightly give the game away but this is straight out chilled vibes from these guys. The ultimate winter warmer mix to have saved away for when the wind gets it’s nip on and the sky’s become grey. Heaven neatly wrapped in one hour of pure lushness!
