Movember – Support LSM’s Editor, Dave ‘Mo’ Hands!

Movember has been around for a few years now. You realise it’s mo-time ’cause you see plenty of chaps (and the odd chapette) growing stubble round their upper lip around the 3rd-4th November. Then before you know it, you feel like an extra in Anchor Man!

The mo-movement didn’t always start out as a charity. It was first done by a bunch of mates in Australia for a laugh. Since then it has grown from 30 Mo Bros in 2003 to 4 million Mo’s by 2013. Check out the story in their 2013 video:

The organisation and participants raise awareness for Men’s Health issues such as, did you know that more than 100 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every day in the UK? Bonker and concerning. More ‘fun’ facts like that found here!

The money they receive goes towards research and awareness as below:

  • Funds for men’s health programme investment
  • Conversations about men’s health that lead to:

–  Greater awareness and understanding of the health risks men face
–  Men taking action to remain well
–  When men are sick they know what to do and take action

So, if you’ve been affected by such issues, or you just think my mo is worth a fiver…

Please donate via my “MoSpace” here!

As for my Movember Story…

Rocking a moustache has been awesome and to be honest, I’d be sad to see it go as we’ve become attached. What do you reckon – mow the mo or keep it?
