Up until this point, we’ve only ever featured DJ mixes by Madame Electrifie on LSM – a couple of which have been for our awesome advent calendar giveaways (check our Soundcloud page to find them) – but now we have the pleasure of sending your way a new remix that she has undertaken as part of her BBC Music Introducing feature ‘Remix Roulette’. The idea behind her feature is to pluck a record from a well-stocked shelf and then remix it. Sounds simple, but when you see just how full the shelf is with vinyl, you soon come to understand why it’s called the ‘Remix Roulette’. I mean imagine pulling out some Harry Secombe!
On this particular occasion, Madame Electrifie’s selected track to remix was Kim Wilde‘s 1986 smash hit ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’ and if you like music with a sleazy, low slung 80’s Electro feel, this is the tune for you! It’s deep, it’s edgy, it’s captivating and it uses the vocal from the original version of ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’ by The Supremes, which is a neat touch! If the music is going to be this good, let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope that more remixes by Madame Electrifie pop up in the future.
