Mark Heaney – Monument of Sound EP Parts 1 & 2
Unless you’re incredibly clued up on music, Mark Heaney, is name you’ll probably be unfamiliar with, but after a career of some thirty years, he really is no stranger in the world of music. Mark, is widely regarded as one of the UK’s finest ever drummers and is renowned for his aggressive style, frightening speed and flawless technique. He’s played in bands such as, The Seahorses, The Shining and Gang Of Four and he has also been the session drummer for the likes of, The Stone Roses, Placebo, Dream Theatre and David Bowie. If that wasn’t enough, Mark, is also an established composer producing work for Sony and EMI. Not too shabby at all!
So after quite an introduction, on to the music which showcases yet another talent in his back pocket, the production side of things. As you might guess, Mark’s music is heavily drum lead and his skills are on full show in parts one and two of his ‘Monument Of Sound’ EP’s.
Part one features four hugely atmospheric tracks with beautifully composed backdrops that will go straight into the ‘Chill’ playlist for when you need them most. Part two is very much on the flip side of part one with a much more powerful and intense sound as, Mark really lets rip on the drums. A masterclass of music from one very talented man!
