Maur & Roobinz – Gospel Man EP (MXO Records)

Peterborough’s premier House night Mixology has been running for several years now and continues to grow bigger and stronger with every party it holds and because of that, the dedicated team have decided it’s time to launch their brand new label MXO Records.

To open proceedings, co-founder of Mixology Dan Clare aka Maur has teamed up with fellow local House producer Roobins to deliver two tried and tested tracks on their ‘Gospel Man’ EP. The first of the tracks is the title track of the EP and if you like House music that quite simply bangs, this one has your name on it! There’s plenty of intent from the off but when it drops, you’re gonna know about it. Thumping beats are give an extra boost by the powerful gospel vocal that really fires things up. In short, tune!!! The second track ‘Magic Organ’ has more of a trippy vibe and the intense gritty groove means it would be perfect for rockin’ a room in the early hours to give the ravers their second or even third wind to power them through to close.

As it goes, Mixology is a local night to me and having popped along to party several times now, I can report that every visit has seen me heading home full of satisfaction that a great night was had. So, if you’re in the Peterborough area on the first Friday of any month, Mixology should be top of your list for a good ol’ knees up! All links to socials below and there’s plenty of top-drawer House mixes to be found on the Soundcloud one!

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
