New Free Music From Sammy Senior

Sammy Senior’s music output has been pretty sparse over recent times. The reason for this though can be totally justified if you’ve been lucky enough to clap eyes on the lush pad he’s put his heart and soul into building. It’s a house that exudes style, which is something his music has been doing for a good few years now. Like many of his fans though, I too have been waiting to hear more of that stylish music he makes and it’s clear here that the waiting has all been worthwhile as we’re treat to not one, but two new free EP’s.

The first of these EP’s is ‘Be Funky’ and this one comes with 5 brand new originals. The first four tracks on the EP ‘Ditty Committee’ feat. The Muthafunkers, ‘Portal Gun Funk’, ‘Be Funky’ and ‘Jump Up’ are the kind of huge Glitch Funk weapons where if you listened to them without knowing who they were by, you would instantly recognise them as the excellent workings of one Mr Senior as he hits us with brash beats and tons of soul shattering bass. The last track on the EP ‘Dangerous’ comes at us in a Drum n Bass stylee and although it’s not normally a style you’d associate with Sammy on the production side of things, the track is of such high quality that it has the sound of someone who has been making D n B for years.

After those five heavy-hitters, you’re bound to be hungry for more and that’s exactly what you can have with the second EP ‘Throwbacks Vol.1’. This four track EP signals the start of a free bootleg/remix series that will see Sammy release some of his most road tested and most loved bootys. Things kickoff on this EP with a smooth D n B remix of Dr Dre’s ‘Xxplosive’ and onto a squelchy midtempo remix of Nelly’s ‘E.I (Uh Oh)’. Laying the smack down is the third track, a fierce midtempo Breaks take on M.O.P’s ‘Ante Up’ and completing the set is a very cool Funk spin on ‘Progress Of Elimination’ by Boss.

Heavyweight sounds galore here which as mentioned, are all free, but should you want to donate towards helping keeping Sammy in the studio and making more music like this, you can do on the link below to his brand new website.
