The Wild Magnolias are a legendary New Orleans based tribe that specialises in traditional Mardi Gras Indian music and Funk and one of their biggest fans is New Orleans funkateer Professor Shorthair. Such is his love for the creative and talented group, he has decided to pay homage to them by remixing three of their tracks and the results, as you’re about to hear, are going to have you Funk fans feeling like Christmas has come early! Injuns, Here We Come (1975), Corey Died On The Battlefield (1973) and Handa Wanda (1970) are the three tracks Professor Shorthair has chosen to remix and with the addition of extra drums, scratches and instantly recognisable samples, they’re all now maxing out on the Funk meter once again.
