Bombstrikes have just released what could easily be classed as one of the very best EP’s of the year from French duo Prosper & Stabfinger. ‘Fire In Me’ is their new EP and the fire in you is about to roar out of control due to red hot and highly flammable funk that’s going to fuel it.
The title track of the EP kicks things off and the intro alone will have your senses heightened and have you sat on the edge of your seat in anticipation of where it’s heading and you’ll not be disappointed with the journey ahead. Prosper & Stabfinger have teamed up with the intensely soulful Georges Perin, whose distinctive vocal adds that extra layer of quality to a track that already has plenty of that. Add in horns, guitar hooks and some down right funky beats and you’ve got an instant classic on your hands!
Keeping the highly raised bar right up there is the second track ‘Drive by Pony’. On this one they’ve teamed up with another very talented singer who’s no stranger to lending his vocal to funk and soul driven music, Ashley Slater (Freakpower). His trademark slickness couples together with more infectious beats and Funk so well and it is another must listen to track.
As is the case most of the time, all good things must come to an end and what a way to end this EP with the final track ‘Get Out Of My Life’. Powered by crisp golden era flavoured beats, Ashley Slater once again lends his vocal to the track alongside The Pride and Tha Groovy Basterds, who are on point as per usual.
