Sam Redmore – The Remix Collection
The formidable and masterful remixer Sam Redmore is surging another tidal wave of generosity over our lands with his free 17 track album ‘The Remixed Collection’! We must warn you however that Sam’s album is only available for free for a limited time only and as it was released 4 days ago (at the time of this published post), you might want to act fast if you’re a little strapped for cash and want to bag yourself some seriously good music! Alternatively, if you’ve got a bit of spare cash and think Sam’s music is worth you parting with a bit of it, by all means, do that because supporting your favourite artists keeps them in the studio making music to make us feel good.
Sam is known by plenty of people now for reimagining well known and lesser known tracks like no other and ‘The Remixed Collection’ is testament to his skills and precise execution of his work. From the first second to the last, you’ll be aghast of just how the music continues to blow your mind every single step of the way. Amongst the 17 tracks featured are some of his earliest pieces of work that saw him take on music by Bob Marley, Q-Tip & Eddie Kendricks, Troumaca, Yes King & Stevie Wonder and his edit of The Apples & Masters At Work, which is a personal favourite of mine. At the more recent end of the release scale, you can find Sam’s spin on music by Talking Heads, The Beatles, Chic and Sister Sledge. With those few names already illuminating your mind, wait till you fully stuck into this gem of an album!
If you’re loving what you’re hearing from Sam and you live in the UK, you might be pleased to hear he’s got quite a few gigs lined up over the next couple of months playing alongside artists such as The Allergies, Smoove & Turrell, DJ Yoda and Craig Charles to name just a few.
