Shaka Loves You – Loose Joints 001

Shaka Loves You have launched a brand new mini-EP series titled Loose Joints where they’ll be putting their own magic touch to some of their favourite Funk and Disco classics. All of the music that will be released on the upcoming EP’s will have been thoroughly tried and tested in their live sets before getting released so as to make sure you’re always getting your hands on the good stuff!

Opening volume one and the new series is the duos edit of Symba‘s 1980 Disco jam You Know I Need You. This slow burner goes through the gears before it gains full traction and churns up the dancefloor with its tough new groove. It’s evident that Marty’s got his bongo’s firing on all cylinders also, which only adds to the party flavour of their edit. If you’re looking for something a bit more uptempo, their edit of Backstreet by Ronn Matlock is the Disco dazzler for you. Stripping back the original just a touch, their edit hones in on that funky bassline and the razor-sharp horns which are once again driven along by the newly incorporated groove and more solid 4/4 beats.

It’s pretty clear to hear why these two tracks have been causing such a stir on the dancefloor and what a great way to kick off their new series. We can’t wait to hear more from it!
