Shindig Weekender 2016

For many a festival lover, the time from the season ending, to it beginning again, can seem to take an eternity. For the organizers however, the start of the festival season swings back around before they know it. No sooner do they have everything wrapped up for winter, they’re then back in amongst it all with their plans on how they’re going to make it bigger and better, whilst trying to contain their excitement with the music and fun they have in store for everyone attending. One of these festivals that continues with getting bigger and better is the, Shindig Weekender.

Now in it’s third year, the Ghetto Funk team bring you their annual, Shindig Weekender and of course, have taken things up a notch, extending it to a three day festival over the bank holiday weekend at the end of May. Who doesn’t like an extra day to party?  They’ve also taken their lineup to the next level by inviting along rising stars and some rather huge names in the world of music. Check out the jaw-dropping lineup…

With a array of talent like that on the bill, you know there’s some serious dancing to be done! But like every top festival though, it’s not all about the partying. Shindig offers something for everyone. You can sip on some fancy cocktails in ‘The Rum Den’ or keep things traditional by hanging out in ‘The Pub’. There’s a ‘Circus & Cabaret’ tent with performances throughout the day and night and there’s a kids fortress that has numerous activities going on like workshops, climbing nets, storytelling, singing, dancing and an indoor cinema.

So as you can tell, it’s a very family friendly festival and family is what this one’s all about. It was a party started for friends who have then got there friends involved and so on, which creates an instant togetherness when you’re all in a field having a top time. At the end of the day, sound people will only invite along sound people because who wants to be known for inviting along someone who ruins the weekend?

All this merriment is being held at a secret location between Bath and Bristol (UK) from the 27th to the 29th May. The location will of course be given out when you purchase your ticket. Best to keep things on the down-low because we all know there’s party haters out there. For all the info on this festival and how to get tickets follow the links below. Be quick though as there’s not long to go and the ticket sales are on the march.

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
