Sonic Funk Foundry has rolled out several quality edits/reworks based EP’s since we last caught up with him and one those that has grabbed our attention is his recent 3 track offering ‘Funk Reworks’. A take on Antonio & Jocafi‘s rare groove gem ‘Kabulere’ is where we start and with toughened up drums, he’s also set the Funk on fire to turn out Afro tinged scorcher. Next up for some Sonic treatment is ‘Funky Fly’ by Bo Diddley and while the Rock influence remains in his rework, it’s matched and somewhat tamed by the full-fat groove applied that gives it proper strut appeal. It’s back to cool and infectious Afro vibes for the final track with a rework on ‘Lokor’ by Muyei.
