#TBT 13 – Freestylers Essential Mix

We’re taking a trip back to 1998 for this weeks Throwback Thursday. A time whenever you turned the radio on there was great music to listen to. The Britpop era with the battle between Oasis and Blur, R & B was far more pleasant to listen to with it having a sound that would lend itself to summer parties and chilled vibes and The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Underworld were smashing it left, right and centre! Also living strong was Big Beat with the likes of Fatboy Slim, Lo Fidelity Allstars, Propellerheads, Bentley Rhythm Ace and of course The Freestylers releasing some of the heaviest distorted beats with that funk / jazz twist around!

So, here we go. The Freestylers, Essential Mix from 1998. A mix absolutely brimming with tracks that have that huge Big Beat / Breaks sound. The mix has only just been made available for free download for the first time ever and if you was partying around the time or would like to know what some of us were stomping to then this mix is clearly one for you to check out and get in your collecti0n.

You can check out all of The Freestylers most recent work over on their Soundcloud page HERE.

About the Author

: I'm Sid, a dude from Lincolnshire. I'll be bringing you music from the perspective of the dance floor, the place I love to be most! I've no production or DJ experience, but I do know a bloody good tune when I hear one and if I connect with it, I'll share it in the hope you connect with it to. Selection and connection is the name of the game.
