That’s Not An Edit Vol.8

That’s Not An Edit’s self titled album series is one that we always eagerly anticipate the next release of. The reason behind this is because they go hunting in their homeland of Australia for the very best Funk, Soul and Disco edits of their kind to compile them on an album that entertains, delights and delivers every single time one them is released. The music comes from an ever growing pool of producers from that part of the world, some you know well and some not so much, but we can confirm that all of the music on offer sits nicely in the ‘mind blowingly good’ category!

As you can see, volume 8 is where we’re at now and this bountiful compilation album comes fit to burst with 23 tracks that will effect you in ways you didn’t know were possible. The album as a whole offers endless amounts of positive energy, with tracks to kickback to poolside and tracks that will guide you to the dance floor.

With so much greatness to be found, a few personnel favourites of mine include D-Funk’s punchy Funky Breaks edit of The Chi-Lites ‘We Are Neighbours’, DJ Soup’s smokin’ hot Afro Disco version of Grace Jones’ ‘Pull Up To The Bumper’, Treble N Bass’ classy mashup of The O’Jays and Jurassic 5, SLMDNK’s soul charging edit of Precious Wilson’s version of ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’ and Rowan P’s funk driven, groove heavy Disco take on Ashford and Simpson’s ‘Don’t Cost You Nothing’.

I’m sure you will all pick out favourites of your own on this album simply because of the amount of quality Funk, Soul and Disco music there is to be found. Don’t just take my word for it though, get stuck in and find your favourites for yourself.
