That’s Not An Edit Vol.9
Australian imprint That’s Not An Edit is here to add some extra sparkle to the festive season with volume 9 of its outstanding album series of the same name. The Christmas spirit is clearly in abundance at its HQ as it has for us a bumper 25 free edits to make sure the stockings are extra full! As always, the compilation album is made up of a top crop of Australian funkateers and a few other friends of the label that reside around the globe, that all come together to offer good times by the bucket load!
The music on ‘That’s Not An Edit Vol.9’ is a predominantly Disco and Funk affair and it comes in at various tempos too so that you’re covered for any eventuality. Amongst what has to be said is a top quality selection of music from start to finish, are a few tracks that got the instant second play treatment when it was first played at LSM HQ. Those include Henri Le Blanc‘s ridiculously funky edit of ‘The Answer’ by Funk Fanatics, SLMDNK‘s equally funked up edit of ‘Fight The Power’ by The Isley Brothers, Benny Hinn‘s old skool funky break flex on ‘Big Audio Dyn-o-mite’, the Disco Funk spectacular that is Sam McNiece‘s edit of Gilla‘s ‘Discothek’, Pecoe‘s kickin’ Funky Breaks spin on ‘Clean Up Woman’ by Betty Davis and finally my favourite of the bunch, Frankee More‘s supercharged Disco edit of Frankie Valli‘s ‘Grease’. Certified banger that one!
With funds running low for many at this time of year, be sure to get stuck into this very welcomed and very generous offering of free music from all involved so that your guests won’t be disappointed when they rock up with the Sherry!
