TNO Project-Theres No Obsession EP

If you love original sounding, experimental breakbeat hardcore, TNO Project’s new EP for Kniteforce is a must!

This epic four tracker begins with ‘Eradicating Deviants’, a track with opens with the most terrifying, blood curdling intro since Ed Rush’s nightmarish ‘Bludclot artattack.’ In 6 minutes, 15 seconds, you will be taken through a journey of horror through to uplifting keys, dreamy synth pop and early jungle all neatly wrapped into one incredible tune.

If like this blogger, you happen to like David Lynch and Breakbeat Hardcore (not as strange a combo as it sounds), you will appreciate the dream ethos of ‘Oneirology (Dance 4 Me)’, a track that repeatedly asks the question “was it a dream” over a dreamy arrangement of synths and multi layered breaks plus a cheeky sample or two in true chipmunk style!

Thigs really get dark for ‘Exitus Letalis’ where eerie cinematic strings meet mercilous hoovers, knockout breaks, a haunting mid section of ethereal sounding new age music and some 1992 Jungle Tekno keys. Yes, you read that right, all in one track and it sounds AMAZING!

‘Mendacium & Spem’ opens with an ominous voice speaking of discoveries. We’re firmly in dreamland for this breezy blast of jungle drums and quite frankly, beautiful strings straight from the era of inteligent jungle. Bukem would absolutely rinse this tune for sure.

If aanyome ever tries to tell you hardcore rave is ‘just a noise’, play this to them and shut them up. As musical and masterful as any 10 minute Prog House or Detroit Techno excursion, this EP proves that hardcore can be every bit as deep and brilliant as any genre.
