V/A – Xpress Edits Vol.2 (The Disco Express)

The Disco Express rolls into station with another four secret DJ weapons from label regulars Hector Zeroni and Pete Maxey and label founder Bustin’ Loose on the second instalment of its excellent Xpress Edits EP series.

Volume two opens with two lively edits from Hector Zanoni. His first offering sees him up the tempo of Surface’s 1983 groove ‘Falling In Love’ significantly while letting those ’80s neon vibes shine bright thanks to his razor-sharp production skills. Hector’s second track brings the carnival into the mind of the listener with another scorching uptempo flip, this time of the horn and fun-filled Latin classic ‘Lotus’ by Ze Roberto.

There is no sign of the intensity subsiding as Pete Maxey steps up next and delivers a pumpin’ and groovin’ re-edit of B.T Express’ red-hot Funk joint ‘Express’. Bustin’ Loose maintains the high-energy levels right to the very end with an all-guns-blazing twist on ‘Pleasure Man’ by Eddie Kendricks that will cause a Disco inferno wherever and whenever it is played!

Although a new label, The Disco Xpress has released a new EP every month since last September and with the run of form it’s currently in on the release front, it is a must-follow label, especially if Disco is what lights up your world.
