VA- Mechanism [Throne Room Records]

Throne Room Records‘ new VA ‘Mechanism ‘ is a very fine selection of Techno indeed. Featuring first class contributions from DJOKO, Chicago Loops, Stanny Abram and more, ‘Mechanism’ is a veritable smorgasbord of Warehouse Techno excellence.

The Throne Room imprint marks a musical transition with a compilation of ravey Techno made by some of the finest purveyors of the sound. To quote the album press release

“Throne Room kick 2018 off with a healthy dose of darkness in the next Shadow Series chapter. Following industry trends, ‘Mechanism’ embodies the label’s transition from backroom Tech House into front room Techno, with powerful basslines and industrial percussions across the board”

There is a distinct theme to this comp from the opening kicks of Reset Safari ‘If You Were Here’, a pounding synergy of extra terrestrial keys and thunderous drums plus a huge slice of oldskool hardcore in the breakdown. DJOKO puts his own unique musical stamp to the melodic Techno sound with ‘Distanz’ and Stanny Abram gets deep with the drums for ‘Orpheus’

Transcode contributes the dark, psychedelic ‘Satori’ and Leo Lippolis supplys the muscular, cinematic  ‘Suspension’

Makanan’s ‘White Ghost’ will flood your senses with an acid 303 overload. When you have recovered from the acid assault, you will be ready for Humantronic’s trippy flight over Detroit by the name of ‘Fifth World’

In closing, the Mechanism comp concludes with our pick of the album, Chicago Loop’s ‘Raveheart’, a Techno track that is as Techno as it gets!!! All about those big meaty hoover stabs!!
