Sega had Sonic, Nintendo had Mario, the Amiga/PC had Zool! Originally created to rival the speedy blue hedgehog, this 1992 hit is a pure platform game offers smooth, fast-moving gameplay. It was also released on several other platforms.

Storyline: Zool, a gremlin Ninja from the Nth Dimension, is forced to land on Earth in order to gain his ninja ranking. In order to do so he has to pass seven lands, beating a boss at the end of each . The also game contains a number of  minigames, including  scrolling space shooter and a game accessible only by making Zool play a certain tune on an in-game piano or finding certain invisible warp points.

Highlights: The pure speed of the gameplay. Faster than sonic and with the level design of Mario – What’s not to like?!
