Wilson Knickit – Sunshine EP (Particle Zoo)

With sunshine in seemingly short supply this summer, what better way to usher some into you lives by bringing you this new EP from Wilson Knickit on the ever-reliable Particle Zoo Recordings imprint. 6 sun-kissed House gems make up the Sunshine EP with 3 originals coming from Wilson and 3 remixes from Paper Street Soul, Picklejam and label co-founder Don Dayglow.

With the identity and whereabouts of Wilson currently unknown, all we can tell you is that he’s pretty damn good when it comes to making music that’s so irresistibly good, you’ll find you just can’t do without it. The title track of the EP is the first of the smile-inducing tracks to come our way and teaming up with Finnish producer Sir Funk, they create a percussive and brass-laden track that is driven along by bustling-beats and a super funky vibe. Remixes of Sunshine come from Paper Street Soul who add live bass guitar and scintillating ’80s inspired synths on their remix while Picklejam cranks up the heat with a pumping Nu-Disco remix that’ll stoke up the fire on the floor till it’s roaring!

The good vibrations continue with Wilson’s second original track In The Mix. This is another infectious and brassy number that offers plenty for the foot-shufflin’ crew. With Disco tendencies hyping the groove, a classic ’90s House sample is dropped in for a nostalgia hit for those who know. Don Dayglow steps up next for remix duties and takes In The Mix down a deep and twisted route with an Acid Hosue spin that’ll give the speaker loving ravers the time of their lives. Wilson’s stunning Fall For You completes the superb EP and it’s a heavenly slice of cosmic Nu-Disco that you’ll fall into and not want to come out of. A lush groove and gorgeous synths will leave you with that warm and fuzzy feeling only music this good can give you.
